All tattoos entered into the contest must be started/finished at the Convention area. There is an obligation to finish tattoo piece during Convention. Finished/healed tattoos can be registered into a different category. And Tattoo artists cannot make touch up to healed tattoos, no exceptions.
Tattoo models must be present during registration.
All tattoos entered into the contests must be performed by 1 artists in attendance at the convention except best collaboration.
Artists can register in each category with only 1 tattoo.
Healed tattoos can be registered into the only Healed Tattoo category.
Both the tattoo artist and the collector must be present to receive their trophies. Awarded artist cannot leave Convention area till reward delivery.
Photographers from multiple tattoo and life-style magazines will be present to photograph contest winners and participants. The International Brussels Tattoo Convention reserves the right to publish these photographs for promotional and for documentation purposes. All artists comfirm this in advance.
If the number of applications to the competition categories is below 5, the category will be canceled.
Each category has 1.2.3 place except Best of Show & Best Collaboration have just 1st Place.
Judges are allowed to check the fresh tattoos with gloves, tattoos cannot be cleaned on the stage during the contest.
*graphic tattoo is a modern, illustrative style focusing on bold lines, strong, and graphic design principles, using techniques like linework and stippling (dots) to create depth instead of smooth shading, drawing from pop art, street art, and minimalism for visually striking, often abstract or symbolic, pieces with clear, defined edges and limited color palettes.
DISQUALIFICATION
Any tattoo found not to be following the rules will be disqualified at the line by Official Judge on-stage.
Any artists found exploiting the rules or loopholes will be disqualified, even after the convention an artist can still be disqualified.
